I just am not a person who really loved Chuck Palahniuk. The plot twist was intriguing, but i began to guess that Tyler was perhaps an evil version or alter ego of the protagonist about halfway through the book. It does seem to sell men rather short, though.

Palahniui film was released in two DVD editions. I watched the movie the day after I finished this and I can’t really say what I enjoyed more. The Narrator blacks out.


Caustic, outrageous, bleakly funny, violent, and always unsettling, Palahniuk’s utterly original creation will make even the most jaded reader sit up and take notice. I expected a lot more from this book with all its popularity, but I simply just didn’t enjoy it.

It’s like reading a book in a dream. Since I already knew what was going to happen, the characters and the twists I did get a bit bored. These guys are on a palahnijk to self destruct although they would describe it as “enlightenment”. It’s a deceptively understated performance as the last third of the film reveals but Norton nails it perfectly.
