I really enjoy this series. Her bossy ways really annoyed the other two.
Jodi and Steven are back as supporting characters and I rather enjoy their dynamic relationship. I grow to admire how powerful they are when they use their powers together. They all had elements too. Love the visualizations that Shauna Granger has evoked in the elemental series. She writes her action scenes so well that I always have a movie reel playing in my head.
And not to mention those spells that they say all rhyme and I always loved any book or movie that had anything to do with magic.
What I need more of is how their powers came to be. There is no explanation as to how they received it. It was rather assumed that they were just born with it. There are several clues, but no questions have been answered, so please Byy, add more history into it.

Best of all, the MC isn’t the least bit stupid. I really like the elemental series. I think my favorite thing about this series is that each book has a completely different story. I wasn’t too sure where this book was going to go. I thought it would ny more on Jensen, but a totally different story emerged. It deal with the fae, which are fascinating creatures! I have read a few books on the fae but I really loved Shauna’s take on gy. She included many different varieties and I really got to see the nuances within the species.
And what is I really like the elemental series.
And what is even cooler is that we got to see so much more of Jodi! She is the air elemental of the trio so it makes sense that she would get her time to shine in this book.
I enjoyed seeing jodi and her powers grow, you could tell that she needed the confidence. I felt so bad for Steven sometimes though.
It felt a little like he was being left in the dust- Shayna has always been super powerful, btu now Jodi was coming into her own, but because the book was so Air based, there was not much for Steven to do. Of course, he was never bitter or anything but supportive. He is such a great friend. Another great thing about Air is that you can really see some awesome character development and growth.
She starts out the series being pretty controlling and having a bit of a temper. But she is really starting to come around and fall into her powers.
She appreciates her friends more and is such a good person at heart. She always wants to help everyone, even Jeremy.
Jensen is so completely and totally awesome. He cares about Shayna so much, and he is so patient with her. Honestly, he puts up with a lot with her. She is confused and as a result, sometimes she doesn’t treat him the best. I just wanted to shake her a few times and make her realize how good she has it with him. My only complaint about Air is that there was not enough Jensen in it! He always seemed to be a few steps behind the group because Shayna never took the time to fill him in until way after the fact.

I just hope that in the next book Shay realizes what she has, and I just hope it isn’t too late. Overall, Air and the elemental series is a great, magical book. The mystery is awesome and the magic battles are intense! It will be sure to keep you on the edge of your seat- I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough! Sep 02, Ari rated it liked it Shelves: I saw Air and, since it’s Jodie’s element, I was hoping the book would focus more on Jodi and let her be in the spotlight, without Shayna.
Maybe even let her be the narrator as she explores these changes happening to her. I mean, Shayna does sort of tells us: Shayna hasn’t changed, at all. I disliked how in this book her patronizing and angry self grew right along with her powers. And she has a new victim, Jensen, who is now in a very casual relationship with her. I also dislike how she has no qualms about unleashing her powers on her friends, for her benefit, yet is skeptic to do it to the “bad” guy in self defense.
Earh also don’t understand eartth Jodi and Steven- love him! I mean, neither seems like a slacker when it comes to their powers, vranger they would be doing their grajger and honing their powers. Especially Jodi, if she really feels that big a rivalry towards Shayna.
Shayna does have her moments when shows she cares about her friends, like when Steven had that little “accident” in the backyard or when she’s covering Jodi’s eyes so Jodi doesn’t see something horrible happening. She just needs to work with her anger problems just as much as she works with her magic. One of my favorite things about this book, is the plot. I like how Granger introduces new characters and lets us wonder what their roles in the story will be.
I also loved that the plot had faeries intertwined to it. And once again, the story is told at the perfect pace, not too slow nor too fast. This helped feed the air of mystery surrounding the events happening with Jeremy and whatever he’s doing. Another great thing is, even with Jensen and Shayna in a casual relationship, the plot is not forgotten in favor of page after page of teenage romance and there’s no dreaded love triangle making unwanted appearances.
This always lets me enjoy the book shaunaa more. I do wish Jensen had a bigger presence in the story. I have a feeling he could be a character I could really love since I did like him more in this book. I enjoyed this book despite my complaints.
Smashwords – Earth – a book by Shauna Granger
It read fast, it was entertaining, granegr had some mystery and Fairies! And well to be honest, the story is kind of addicting. I will be reading the third book soon.
I’m really interested in finding out if a new character will be introduced to be the Water Childor if it’s someone we already know.
